Bandana Preyashi, IAS (2003, Bihar Cadre), is a visionary bureaucrat with two decades of experience. From empowering communities at the grassroots as District Magistrate to shaping policies at the national level, she has left an indelible mark on India's governance landscape. With a remarkable portfolio under her belt, spanning Urban Development, Ministry of Finance, Women & Child Development, Cooperative Department, Art, Culture & Youth Department. She also worked with prestigious global institutions like The World Bank and Asian Development Bank and she is dedicated to creating a brighter future for all. Her unwavering commitment to creating positive change has earned her accolades throughout her illustrious career.

As Secretary of the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Bihar, she has been at the forefront of conceptualizing, developing and executing policies and programmes for conservation of the state’s natural resources, tackling climate change issues and striving to achieve sustainable development in the state.

Academic Career:

She is an alumnus of the renowned and esteemed St. Stephens College, Delhi. She also has been awarded with the prestigious Chevening Scholarship which is a testament to her academic prowess and exemplary leadership quality.
