Lyonpo Namgay Tshering

The Hon’ble Lyonpo Namgay Tshering received the Orange Scarf and Minister title (Lyonpo) from His Majesty the King of Bhutan on November 07, 2018 and joined the Ministry of Finance in the same year. He is Bhutan's third democratically elected Minister of Finance.
Prior to joining politics, His Excellency served as the project coordinator (World Bank and Global Fund Project), Planning Officer and Program Manager at the Ministry of Health. In addition he served for the National HIV/AIDS Control Program as Program Manager and a National Professional Officer at the World Health Organization. He received a degree of Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Madras, India and a Master’s in Public Health from Chulalongkom University, Thailand
